Because your private detective agency license will be renewed for 2 years, the Attorney General no longer requires that you bond or insurance cover the entire licensure period.
Due to the time required for processing renewal applications, please submit your completed renewal application materials and fees as soon as possible in order to have your renewed private detective license in hand by the first of the year. In any event, renewal application materials and fees must be received by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation no later than December 31. Since the Private Detective Licensing Act foes not provide for a renewal 'grace period,' your private detective license will expire if you do not submit a completed renewal application in time. In that event you would need to submit and requalify for an initial private detective license.
